1. Program Overview
The Scoutly SMS program (the “Program”) is a text-message service operated by Scoutly Inc. (“Scoutly”, “we”, “us”) that lets you submit service requests by SMS and receive offers from verified service professionals (“Scouts”) on the Scoutly platform.
The Program is operated through a toll-free number registered to Scoutly. By participating, you agree to these SMS Terms & Conditions, our Terms of Service, and our Privacy Policy.
The Program is free to use. Scoutly does not charge for messages sent or received. Standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply.
2. How to Opt In
You enroll in the Program by texting a service request to the Scoutly toll-free number. After your first message, we will reply with a one-time welcome and consent prompt:
Welcome to Scoutly. We connect you with verified pros who compete to send you offers — free. Reply YES to confirm and start receiving offers. Reply STOP anytime to opt out. Msg & data rates may apply.
To confirm enrollment and authorize Scoutly to send you offer messages, reply with any of: YES, Y, START, or AGREE.
You will not receive any offer messages until you confirm. Your initial inbound message and any reply other than the keywords above will not trigger marketing or recurring messages.
3. What You Will Receive
Once enrolled, you may receive the following message types:
- Request confirmation — a single confirmation message after your request is parsed and matched to scouts.
- Offer notifications — one message per offer when a verified scout responds to your request, containing the scout's name, message, direct contact info (phone and email if they have opted to share it), and a link to their public profile on Scoutly.
- Service messages — operational messages such as request-archived confirmations or replies to HELP / STOP commands.
Scoutly does not send promotional or marketing broadcasts through this channel. All outbound messages are tied to a request you initiated or a command you sent.
4. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on the number of requests you submit and the number of offers received from scouts. A typical request results in 1–10 messages over the lifetime of that request. You can close an active request at any time by replying ARCHIVE, which will stop further offer messages for that request.
5. How to Opt Out
You can opt out of the Program at any time by replying with any of the following keywords (case-insensitive):
- STOP
- UNSUBSCRIBE
After opting out, you will receive a single confirmation message and will not receive further messages from the Program. To re-enroll after opting out, reply START at any time.
6. Help
For help, reply HELP at any time. You will receive a message explaining how the Program works and the available commands.
For additional support, contact support@scoutlyhq.com.
7. Cost
There is no charge from Scoutly to receive messages from the Program. Message and data rates may apply based on your mobile plan and carrier. Check with your carrier for details about your messaging plan.
8. Supported Carriers
The Program is supported on all major U.S. and Canadian wireless carriers, including but not limited to AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, Boost Mobile, Cricket Wireless, MetroPCS, Rogers, Bell, Telus, Freedom Mobile, and their respective MVNOs.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is not guaranteed and may be affected by factors outside our control.
9. Scout Contact Information
Verified scouts who opt into direct contact may include their business phone number and email address in offer messages. Once that information is shared with you, communications between you and the scout may occur outside the Scoutly platform.
Conversations that occur off-platform are not moderated or monitored by Scoutly. We encourage you to exercise reasonable judgment when contacting scouts directly. Scoutly is not responsible for the conduct, performance, or representations of any scout once communication moves outside of the Platform.
10. Privacy
We collect and process your mobile number and message content as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell your mobile number or message content to third parties. Phone numbers and SMS content are used solely to operate the Program, match you with scouts, and improve the service.
SMS opt-in data is never shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
11. Eligibility
To participate in the Program, you must be at least 18 years of age, the authorized account holder of the wireless device you use, and a resident of the United States or Canada. By texting Scoutly, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these SMS Terms & Conditions from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by SMS, by email (if we have one on file), or by an updated “Effective Date” on this page. Your continued participation after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
